NPC 2026 Poster Submission Portal

The NPC Committee invites students, interns, post-docs, and early career psychologists to submit a poster proposal for the poster session, to be held on October 3, 2026, in Chicago, IL.

We seek posters presenting current knowledge and innovative research, typically from the past five years, relevant to any area of psychology. Work with applications to the practice of psychology is encouraged. Proposals are evaluated on clarity and conciseness, scholarly quality, originality, diversity and inclusion, cultural humility and responsiveness, and adherence to submission guidelines.

The first authors of posters accepted for NPC are invited to attend the conference to present their poster in a scheduled poster session and will receive complimentary registration for the entire conference.

What You'll Need to Submit

Poster Title: Maximum 15 words. Titles should clearly reflect the content of the poster.

Abstract (maximum 100 words): A concise, public-facing summary written for a broad professional audience.

Poster Description (maximum 500 words): A detailed summary including background, purpose/aim, methods or approach, key findings (or expected findings), and clinical or practical implications. Address cultural humility and responsiveness where relevant. Do not include the title or author names/affiliations.

Please follow the structure appropriate to your submission type:

  • Empirical studies & meta-analyses: Objectives, Methods, Results, Conclusions, Implications
  • Qualitative studies: Purpose, Approach, Data Collection & Analysis, Key Themes/Findings, Implications
  • Literature reviews: Purpose, Scope, Synthesis of Findings, Implications
  • Case studies, theoretical & methodological works: Purpose, Description, Assessment, Conclusions

Note: Posters based solely on planned research will not be considered. Posters previously presented at major psychology conferences will not be accepted.

References: Three references required, each published within the past 10 years.

Poster Specifications

  • Size: Exactly 4 ft. high × 6 ft. wide (122 cm × 183 cm)
  • Authors: Provide full name, degree(s), email address, and organizational affiliation for all authors. Up to two co-authors permitted. Faculty advisors should be listed separately, not as co-authors.
  • Students, interns, and ECPs are strongly encouraged to serve as the first author.
  • An individual may appear on no more than two submissions.

Poster Session Guidelines

  • Accepted posters will be presented in person only.
  • Posters must be set up at least 15 minutes before the session begins.
  • Mounting materials (e.g., thumbtacks) will be provided.
  • At least one author must be present for the duration of the session.
  • Presenters are encouraged to actively engage with attendees.

By submitting, all participants agree to the NPC Rules for Participation, which include:

  • Adherence to ethical standards in research and attention to cultural humility and responsiveness.
  • Conference registration for the first author is complimentary; additional authors will register and pay the applicable fees.
  • Use of inclusive, respectful, and non-stigmatizing language.
  • Professional and respectful conduct at all times.
