This in-person APAC Evaluator Workshop will take place on 18-19 November 2027 in Colombo and is kindly hosted by the Sri Lanka Accreditation Board for Conformity Assessment (SLAB). This workshop is mandatory for all APAC Peer Evaluators (including Nominated Evaluators, Trainee Team Members, Team Members, Deputy Team Leaders and Team Leaders) that have IT-related management system certification sub-scopes (i.e. AIMS, ISMS, ITSMS).
APAC will provide funding to help cover the expenses to attend workshop, including flight costs, accommodation, meals, etc. Refreshments and lunch will be provided each workshop day at no charge to the attendees. See the 'Funding' tab on this website for more details.
This APAC Evaluator workshop is to review, discuss and harmonise expectations and practices amongst APAC Evaluators that evaluate APAC MRA signatories that are recognised for IT-related management system certification sub-scopes (i.e. AIMS, ISMS, ITSMS). The workshop will focus on evaluating accreditation body activities taking into account:
- relevant accreditation schemes and the requirements of ISO/IEC 17011:2017 Conformity assessment — Requirements for accreditation bodies accrediting conformity assessment bodies;
- ISO/IEC 27006-1:2024 Information security, cybersecurity and privacy protection — Requirements for bodies providing audit and certification of information security management systems (ISMS);
- ISO/IEC 20000-6:2017 Information technology — Service management - Part 6: Requirements for bodies providing audit and certification of service management systems (ITSMS); and
- ISO/IEC 42006:2025 Information technology — Artificial intelligence — Requirements for bodies providing audit and certification of artificial intelligence management systems (AIMS).
Please note that immediately prior to this APAC Evaluator Workshop there will be a 3-day training course on how to accredit certification bodies for IT-related management system certification sub-scopes (i.e. AIMS, ISMS, ITSMS). That 3-day training course will be from 15-17 November 2027 at the same venue. APAC will extend the per diem for those APAC Peer Evaluators that choose to attend that training event as well. That training event requires a separate registration on that event's registration website.
