VIRTUAL MULTIFAMILY HOUSING LENDING 101 OVERVIEW
Gain a practical introduction to CDFI multifamily housing finance in this foundational, half-day training! This interactive session will walk you through the core components of CDFI multifamily lending and how CDFIs use these tools to support affordable housing development and preservation.
We’ll begin with an overview of the multifamily housing landscape and explore how CDFIs meet critical community needs through the development and preservation of affordable rental homes. From there, you’ll learn about common loan products and deal structures, key underwriting and risk considerations, and the ecosystem of public and private partners involved in multifamily projects.
Through case studies and activities, you’ll walk through real-world examples of how CDFIs structure and manage multifamily deals. The session will also highlight current trends, including shifting market dynamics, public funding programs, and strategies to support long-term affordability and improve tenant outcomes through housing finance.
This session is ideal for practitioners who are new to CDFI multifamily lending or looking to build a stronger foundation in this work in the context of CDFIs.
