To register for GATHER: Catalyst 2026 (American Society of Interior Designers) (“Event”), you must agree to comply with the following ASID Registration Terms & Conditions (the "Terms & Conditions”). Acceptance of, and compliance with, these Terms & Conditions is required for registration and participation in all Events. If you do not agree to these Terms and Conditions, you will be unable to attend any Event. You agree that these Terms & Conditions are made a part of your registration and your submission of a signed registration form is regarded as an affirmation of your acceptance of the Terms & Conditions. 

Acceptance of policies and registration conditions

You agree and understand that the following Terms & Conditions apply to all Events, and you are only required to agree to the Terms & Conditions once for them to apply to each Event you attend. All conference attendees are required to wear their Conference Badge throughout the conference. Your Conference Badge allows you access to those events included in your registration fee. If you lose your Conference Badge or require onsite changes to your Conference badge, a $50.00 fee will be charged to the credit card on file. 

A no-smoking policy is strictly enforced for all Events.

Cancellation Policy

Registration for Events is non-refundable, except as determined in ASID’s sole discretion. ASID reserves the right to cancel an event due to (1) low enrollment, or (2) flood, tsunami/tidal wave, lightning, hurricane, tornado, or other acts of God; labor disputes, strikes, shortages of materials, rationing; war, acts of terrorism, revolution, civil commotion, acts of public enemies, blockade, embargo, or any law, order, proclamation, regulation, ordinance, demand, or requirement having legal effect of any regulatory authority or other competent governmental or judicial body, agency, or authority; pandemic or infectious disease; or other circumstances which would make the Event non-viable, impossible, inadvisable, illegal or commercially impractical, as determined in ASID’s sole discretion. If ASID cancels an Event, attendees will be offered a refund. Should circumstances arise that result in the postponement of an Event, ASID has the right to either issue a refund or transfer registration to the same event at the new, future date. ASID will not be responsible for reimbursement of any participant’s expenses related to the cancellation or postponement of an Event. 

Attendance

GATHER: Catalyst 2026 is a meeting for interior designers, including all ASID members.

Event conduct and safety

ASID strives to provide a safe, productive, and welcoming environment to all participants, including staff and vendors, at the Events. ASID has no tolerance for discrimination, harassment, or bullying in any form at the Events. As such, you agree to comply with these principles and respect the rights of others.

Participants should report any behavior inconsistent with these principles to onsite Event staff. If you believe you or another person are in danger, do not hesitate to contact local authorities or emergency services. Event staff will be happy to help participants contact venue security or local law enforcement, provide escorts, or assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe for the event's duration. We value your attendance. You may also contact ASID directly to report a concern at events@asid.org

Liability waiver & release

By registering for and participating in the Events, you hereby warrant and represent that you are age 18 or above and freely waive, release from liability, assume all risks, and covenant not to sue ASID or its members, employees, board members, agents, or volunteers for any expense, loss, damage, personal injury, including loss of life, illness, including but not limited to disability, property damage, or property theft or actions of any kind that you may hereafter suffer or sustain before, during, or after the Event, including traveling to and from the Event, unless said expense, loss, damage, personal injury, including loss of life, illness, disability, property damage or property theft or actions of any kind is caused by the sole, gross negligence of ASID. This Liability Waiver and Release is specifically binding upon your heirs and assigns and is knowingly given. 

By registering for the Events, you freely and voluntarily agree and acknowledge that you are above the age of 18 and undertaking participation in the Events and activities as your own free and intentional act and you are fully aware that possible physical injury or exposure to illness might occur to you as a result of your actions or those of other attendees or participants including the Venue’s employees and ASID’s officers, directors, employees, or agents.

You hereby assume responsibility for your own well-being and on behalf of yourself, your heirs, and assigns, release and forever discharge, indemnify and hold harmless ASID, its directors, officers, staff, agents, members, and representatives, from any and all claims, liabilities, actions, damages, costs or expenses of any kind arising out of, in connection with, or relating to my attending or participating in the Events including, without limitation, any illness, damages, or injury resulting from your travel to and from, and attendance at, the Events. You further understand and agree that this Waiver includes any Claims based on the actions, errors, omissions, or negligence of ASID, its directors, officers, staff, agents, members, and representatives.

Service as an invited speaker

If you agree to speak at an Event, we may share your contact and biographical information with Event attendees. Sometimes we may also request a photograph. In other cases, we post on the respective Event website information such as your name, employer, physical work address, work email address, and a link to your company website or professional LinkedIn page available to the public. This is so that visitors to the Event website, including Event attendees and speakers, can contact you with questions and requests for more information and provide feedback if needed. Additionally, speakers may be asked to complete a release agreement or copyright form before presentation. 

Credential/badge scanning during the Event

Event co-sponsors, exhibitors, and other third parties may directly request your personal information at their exhibit booths or presentations. Providing your information to them is optional, and you should review their privacy policies to address your needs and concerns about how they will treat your personal information. 

You understand that should you attend a session or program hosted by an exhibitor other than ASID any personal data you provide will go to a non-ASID entity. You are solely responsible for this sharing of information and ASID takes no responsibility for how that company uses your personal information.

Usage of photographic and video material taken at Events

ASID imposes certain restrictions on the use of multimedia at its Events (e.g., photography, video, audio, online streaming, and all future mediums). You may use hand-held cameras and smartphones to take photographs and capture digital images for personal, non-commercial use, provided the photography is not disruptive and does not infringe on another party’s rights. Photographs may not be published, sold, reproduced, transmitted, distributed, or commercially exploited.

ASID may hire professional service providers (photo/video/streaming/audio) to document and display the event experience. ASID may also use social media (e.g. Instagram) to (i) post-real-time photos and videos to its social media feeds; and (ii) display select submissions from those feeds on monitors throughout the Event venue. You are encouraged to capture your event experiences and post your social content from the Event (text, photos, audio, video, streaming), provided it does not infringe upon the rights of any attendee, sponsor, third-party or ASID. Such infringement would include defamation or infringement of intellectual property rights. If an attendee requires a release or permission to protect the rights of a third party, obtaining such a release or permission shall be your sole responsibility at your sole liability and expense

By attending the Event, you acknowledge and agree as follows: (a) ASID may edit and use footage and photos it captures at the Event for marketing and promotional activities and any other lawful purpose in the ordinary course of its business; and (b) due to the prevalence of mobile recording devices in today's world, ASID shall not be liable for any third-party capture of your image in any multimedia format by other attendees at the Event.

Recordings of the proceedings of standards development meetings

The ASID restrictions on recording the proceedings of ASID standards development meetings include the use of audio recording, video recording, and photography by participants or observers.  

General

ASID reserves the right to change, amend, add or remove any of the above Terms & Conditions at its sole discretion and without prior notice. If one or more of the conditions outlined in these Terms & Conditions should become invalid, the remaining conditions will remain valid and apply. These Terms & Conditions apply to all Event participants (attendees, speakers, sponsors, exhibitors).  The views expressed by any Event attendee, speaker, exhibitor, or sponsor are not necessarily those of ASID. All attendees, speakers, exhibitors, and sponsors are solely responsible for the content of all individual or corporation presentations, marketing collateral, and advertising. 

Limitation of Liability

The liability of ASID shall be limited by the terms and conditions appearing in this agreement. IN NO EVENT SHALL ASID BE LIABLE UNDER THIS AGREEMENT FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, PUNITIVE, SPECIAL, AND/OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, EVEN IF THE PARTIES HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. The maximum extent of ASID’s liability shall be the amount of the registration fee paid by the attendee.

Intellectual Property Rights

ASID reserves all titles and all other rights in or to the presentations, materials, and any related documentation (including all Intellectual Property Rights) provided during the Events (“Intellectual Property Rights”). Nothing in this Agreement will (directly or indirectly) be construed to assign or grant attendee any right, title, or interest in and to the Intellectual Property Rights except as may be provided by ASID.

Applicable Law

These terms and conditions shall be construed in accordance with the laws of the District of Columbia without reference to or application of its rules governing conflicts of law. In addition, all disputes arising under this Agreement shall be resolved in any state or federal court in the District of Columbia that properly has subject matter jurisdiction and venue with respect to such a lawsuit, and attendee agrees, solely for purposes of this Agreement, to submit to the personal jurisdiction of that court.
