CONFERENCE DESCRIPTION

This full-day, pediatric conference will provide up-to-date information on the field of pediatric immunization with an emphasis on current immunization recommendations and general immunization updates.

TARGET AUDIENCE

Physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, medical assistants, community outreach and public health workers, immunization coalition members, and office staff who work in pediatric healthcare settings, healthcare and civic organizations.

LEARNER OBJECTIVES

• Summarize recommended updates to childhood vaccinations and to the pediatric immunization schedule.
• Cite two current topics related to immunizations in Massachusetts and nationally.
• Describe the history of pediatric immunization in Massachusetts and its impact on vaccine-preventable disease prevention.
• Identify vaccine misinformation/disinformation and develop strategies for combating it.
• Discuss future vaccines, including updated and new vaccines, and future vaccine delivery mechanisms.
