TRAFFIC SAFETY NEVER GOES OUT OF STYLE

The annual New York State Highway Safety Symposium brings together highway safety professionals from across New York State to share, promote, and educate on highway safety initiatives with workshops and presentations covering the most critical issues and best practices from leading experts in traffic safety. 

The symposium has merged with the Empire State Law Enforcement Traffic Safety (ESLETS) Conference, a similar conference serving many of the same stakeholders, and unites safety professionals including law enforcement, traffic engineers, policymakers, public health officials, prosecutors, and community organizations.

The event is organized by the NYS Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee, the NYS Association of Traffic Safety Boards, the NYS STOP-DWI Association, Inc., and the New York State Police.

• $425 for Attendees (valid 10/19 - 10/22)
• $200 for One-Day Attendees:

TRAINING FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT

Your arrest is only as strong as your testimony. Spend the day with prosecutors who try these cases and learn how to handle the courtroom with confidence. Designed for law enforcement officers with a wide variety of trial testimony experience, Cops in Court includes discussion and instruction on all aspects of investigation, trial preparation, and courtroom testimony in impaired driving cases. Presented by the New York State Traffic Safety Resource Prosecutor Program.

*Cops in Court Training is included in both a "Full Symposium Registration " and a "Monday 10/19 Registration - Cops in Court"

ARIDE - The Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement Training Available

ARIDE TRAINING FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT

This ARIDE training will take place along with the Highway Safety Symposium which will drive ARIDE law enforcement participants an opportunity to receive training and be attend morning programming of the symposium. 

The Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement (ARIDE) course trains law enforcement officers to observe, identify and articulate the signs of impairment related to drugs, alcohol, or combination of both. This course was designed to provide participants with an enhanced level of awareness in drug impairment as it relates to traffic safety and improves upon their Standardized Field Sobriety Testing (SFST) proficiency. NOTE: ARIDE participants at the Highway Safety Symposium do not need to register separately or pay a separate fee for the symposium.

Training times will be:

• October 19th: 8 am-4 pm
• October 20th: 12:30 pm-4:30 pm
• October 21st: 12:30 pm-4:30 pm
