Anytown Regional Homecoming: Explore the College Cemetery

Wed., Oct. 28, Noon ET

Explore the College Cemetery like never before! The cemetery tour, a perennial favorite Reunion Weekend tradition, is now available in virtual form. It's the perfect event to celebrate spooky season — costumes are optional, but highly encouraged!

Over the past year, the College Archives, in partnership with Hamilton students and colleagues in Library and Information Technology Services, developed an ArcGIS StoryMap of the College Cemetery. Now you can go online to learn about the history of the cemetery, explore notable figures, review campus maps featuring the cemetery, and geolocate every gravestone alongside biographical information about each resident and a statistical analysis of the causes of death. College Archivist Jeremy Katz and Connor Havelka ’28 will present an overview of the project and a tutorial of the site. Steve Starnes ’80, P’11, who leads the in-person tours, will share stories drawn from his years of experience guiding guests through the historic cemetery grounds.
