Student Perspectives on College Access, Opportunity, and Success
Despite the ongoing threats to diversity, equity, and inclusion, college DEI programs are important for students to feel like they belong and 60% of students in a national survey report that they are connected to a scholarship, grant, mentorship, or opportunity aimed at underrepresented students. What else are students telling us about their experiences, concerns, and needs?
This is the first installment of our Building the Conditions for Student Success webinar series, featuring a moderated panel of research experts who will share key findings from national and state-level student surveys. Panelists will explore how students are responding to shifting higher education policies and what the evidence reveals about the conditions needed to support college access and success.
The conversation will conclude with actionable takeaways for advocates, including how to responsibly translate research findings into compelling advocacy messages and leverage resources from EdTrust's accompanying toolkit to elevate student voices and inform policy conversations.
Participants will leave with:
- A deeper understanding of national and state-level student survey findings
- Key evidence-based messages to elevate student experiences and needs in higher education advocacy
- Practical resources to translate survey findings into advocacy and action
