Course Summary - ChatGPT 101

In today's utility sector, AI tools like ChatGPT are transforming how we work. Using them effectively requires understanding, skill and careful consideration of data and privacy. This practical 3-hour session helps utility professionals explore ChatGPT's capabilities while respecting the sector's need for accuracy and security.

Through hands-on exercises and real utility examples, you'll learn how to use ChatGPT to streamline routine tasks, enhance communications and support your decision-making. Our experienced facilitators will guide you through a wide range of prompting techniques, show you how to check AI outputs for accuracy, and help you identify which tasks are (and aren't) suitable for AI assistance.

Join utility peers to explore how AI can become your "second desk". You'll leave with practical skills and a balanced understanding of integrating ChatGPT into your daily work.

The course includes hands-on exercises and covers the following topics:

A high-level overview of the fast-changing AI landscape
How AI tools learn and what that means for users in the utility sector
An overview of ChatGPT
Prompting suggestions to maximize your time with ChatGPT
Customizing ChatGPT and getting the most from your tools
Evolving from writing to editing
Discussions how ChatGPT may impact regulatory filings, operations, and LDC communications.

Prerequisite work includes having a familiarity with web-based digital tools. Reference materials for review will be sent prior to the session. This virtual course will access multiple browser-based sites. All participants must have an Open AI Chat-GPT account before the start of the course. At the time of printing, Chat-GPT offered a free account which required personal information (including an email, birth date and mobile phone number) to sign up. This course will showcase the difference between paid and free accounts.

This course starts at 9:00 AM and ends approximately 12:00 PM.

Early Bird pricing in effect up to 4 weeks in advance of the session date.

Full refund less a service fee of 20% of registration fee (plus 13% HST) will be made on cancellations received in writing ten working days prior to the course dates, after which no refunds will be made. Substitution of registrants from the same company may be made up to the course date. The MEARIE Group reserves the right to postpone or cancel any activity in the event of low enrollment. If this occurs, a full refund will be provided or we can transfer the fee to the next scheduled class.
