On behalf of the Illinois Department of Public Health's Bureau of Family Health, we would like to extend an invitation to you to consider being a sponsor, exhibiting and/or registering to attend one of the most prestigious conferences about women's and family health held in Illinois. Reaching Illinois women and families is at the core of every activity conducted by the Bureau of Family Health. The office was established in 1997 and is now one of the largest state offices of its kind in the country.

The Bureau of Family Health serves the women and families of Illinois in several capacities, some of our programs include:
Administrative Perinatal Centers: The Administrative Perinatal Center (APC) is a university, or university affiliated hospital, having a Level III Perinatal designation. The APC, which may be composed of one or more institutions, shall be responsible for the administration and implementation of the Department’s Regionalized Perinatal Health Care program, in accordance with Illinois Administrative Code 640.

Carolyn Adams Ticket for the Cure: Funding for this grant program is provided through the Illinois State Lottery scratch-off ticket which funds community grant programs as well as breast cancer research grants.

Family Planning: The Family Planning Program provides comprehensive information and services (along with related preventative health services) to men and women in order to lower the incidence of unintended pregnancy, improve maternal and infant health, and reduce the incidence of abortion.

Illinois Breast and Cervical Cancer Program: The statewide Illinois Breast and Cervical Cancer Program (IBCCP) offers free breast and cervical cancer screening and diagnostic services for women 40 and older for breast cancer screening and 21 and older for cervical cancer screening who are uninsured or underinsured.

Illinois Perinatal Quality Collaborative: The Illinois Perinatal Quality Collaborative (ILPQC) works to improve the health of pregnant women, mothers, and infants through perinatal quality improvement initiatives implemented by participating birthing hospitals across Illinois. ILPQC provides quality improvement infrastructure, resources, and data management support to over 100 birthing hospitals across the state.

Mini- Maternal and Child Health Grant: The Mini-Maternal and Child Health Block grant supports the preventive and primary health and well-being of Chicago’s mothers, infants, children and adolescents through stakeholder engagement, outreach, education and MCH systems support and alignment.

Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Mental Health Consultation: Through infant and early childhood mental health consultation (IECMH) the Illinois Children’s Mental Health Partnership will work to strengthen the capacity of public health staff to prevent, identify and reduce the impact of mental health issues among families served by MCH programs.

School Health Program:The School Health Program provides support to Certified School Health Centers around the state. The purpose of a school health center is to improve the overall physical and emotional health of school age children and youth by promoting healthy lifestyles and by providing accessible preventive healthcare. Through early detection and treatment of chronic and acute health problems, identification of risk-taking behaviors and appropriate anticipatory guidance, treatment and referral, school health centers assure students are healthy and ready to learn.
