Join Us in San Diego for the 2027 Gathering!

We invite you to join us September 7–9, 2027, in San Diego, California, for the next Gathering: A Retreat for Clergy. This year’s theme, Healing the Storyteller, will invite participants to reflect on the stories that shape their lives, leadership, and ministry.

The Gathering will take place at the Sheraton San Diego Resort at Harbor Island. A complimentary shuttle will be provided between the airport and the resort.

Program Highlights

The Gathering is part of Pension Fund’s broader clergy wellness programming, which includes Cornerstones, Health and Wellness Partner Gifts, Your Moneyline, Learn2Live online mental health support, and additional programs and resources designed to support the well-being of clergy.

Our program line-up includes:

· Silas House, Poet Laureate of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, will invite participants to reconnect with the people and places that shaped them into the storytellers they are today.

· David Wang, PhD, will lead Wednesday’s main session, drawing on his research into the well-being of religious leaders, including how leaders process communal trauma and care for their own mental health.

· Rev. Virzola Jo-Nan Law, Senior Minister of Northway Christian Church in Dallas, Texas, will offer the closing message and music coordinated by Andra Moran.

Registration is $100 per person, with an additional $200 for spouse or partner meals. Registration includes:

· A two-night hotel stay
· Conference participation
· Opening dinner
· Two breakfasts
· Wednesday lunch

Participants may also choose to extend their stay in San Diego for up to three days before or after the conference by purchasing additional hotel nights during registration.

Hotel Reservations

You are not responsible for making your hotel reservation. Please do not contact the hotel with housing questions. Pension Fund manages all housing reservations. Until registration closes and the rooming list is submitted, the hotel will not have the information needed to assist with lodging questions or accommodations.

After Pension Fund submits the rooming list, you will receive your hotel confirmation directly from the hotel. If you book additional room nights outside the Pension Fund room block, you may be required to check out and check in again for a new room.
