Registration is now live for the 2026 NSBP - NSHP Joint Annual Conference!
This conference brings together leading experts from academia, industry and government agencies as well as the next generation of scientists from universities around the world. With a focus on the future, the conference enables students to engage in close interactions with professional physicists and gain exposure to high-quality scientific research and presentations. The 2026 NSBP-NSHP Joint Conference will comprise three days of technical seminars, educational sessions, employment exhibitions, interactive networking opportunities, new and existing scholarship and postdoctoral programs, as well as hybrid and virtual career fairs and poster sessions.
In addition to being a technical meeting that promotes persistence and belonging among physics students and early-career professionals, the conference focuses on high-level research talks, academic and industry workforce pipeline efforts, peer-to-peer interactions, and full-scale exposure to the scientific community.
2026 Student Support Campaign
THE NEED HAS NEVER BEEN GREATER
In 2025, budget cuts slashed student attendance nearly in half — from over 1,000 to 659. 72% of students who did attend said they couldn't have been there without financial support. The students who need this conference most are the ones least able to afford it. For many Black physics students, the NSBP conference is the first time they've been in a room full of physicists who look like them.
MAKE AN IMPACT
Your Gift, Their Future! Every dollar goes directly toward getting students to the NSBP conference — travel, lodging, meals, and registration.

"I honestly don't believe that I would have followed the trajectory of going to grad school had I not met people at NSBP who said it's very important to go to graduate school… because there are so few of us in the field."
-Nia Suett, University of Central Florida · Simons NSBP Scholar
