About Us

The IEEE Industrial Applications Society (IAS) Electrical Safety Workshop (ESW) is sponsored by the IEEE IAS Electrical Safety Committee (ESafeC). The ESafeC is a committee in the IEEE IAS Process Industries Department (PID).

The ESW provides an international forum to enable and accelerate electrical safety culture to help prevent workplace injuries from electrical hazards. The forum includes standards working group meetings, meetings of the Electrical Safety Committee and its subcommittees, technical paper presentations, technical tutorials, and a products and services expo. Standards working groups of other PID Committees may also meet at the ESW.

The scope of the ESafeC is treatment for all matters within the scope of IAS in which the emphasis or dominant factor specifically relates to occupational hazards of electrical energy. Topics include, but are not limited to hazard phenomena, inherently safer design, work practices, hazard mitigation, and electrical safety management. The ESafeC has created subcommittees to help fulfill its mission.

This registration site allows you to register to attend the workshop as a workshop attendee or exhibitor. Register on or before January 31, 2027, to get the discounted registration rates and purchase optional items like ESW shirts.
