The Ohio Academy of Family Physicians (OAFP) will be hosting two events in August! Members have the opportunity to participate in a Virtual Membership Meeting on Thursday, August 6, and an in-person Family Medicine Celebration on Saturday, August 15, at the Grand Event Center located in Columbus, OH.

Virtual Membership Meeting
Join us from the comfort of your own home to make your voice heard and contribute to the business decisions for the Academy. The virtual meeting consists of bylaws-mandated annual business activities including:

  • Election of officers
  • Discussion and approval of bylaws amendments
  • Recommendations that require approval from the membership.

Family Medicine Celebration
Experience the chance to reconnect with colleagues, gain practical insights, and leave inspired. Join us for engaging conversations, the celebration of new leaders, and a dynamic keynote address.

Student Track
New this year: a dedicated student experience, including workshop sessions and an Ohio Family Medicine Residency Fair.

Medical students will participate in a series of hands-on workshops for learning and practicing clinical procedures common in the family medicine outpatient setting. Students will rejoin the main conference programming for OAFP member recognition, lunch, and a keynote session with Dr. Gary LeRoy. In the afternoon, students will have dedicated time to meet with some of Ohio’s family medicine residency programs.

Connect with program directors, faculty, and residents at the Residency Fair as you explore options for your residency training. This is a prime opportunity for fourth-year medical students to get a “last look” before residency applications open, as well as for first, second, and third-year students to start researching what a great residency fit may look like and meeting programs in person.

Residency programs will be posted to the OAFP event website as they confirm participation.
