About the Meeting
The Aligning Leadership for Academic Medicine: A Meeting of the Council of Academic Health System Executives (CAHSE) and Council of Deans (COD) is the only national meeting designed exclusively for AAMC member medical school deans and academic health system executives. Deans and academic health system executives have histories of exceptional leadership across their institutions, communities, and the health care sector, where they drive advancements in education, discovery, and the delivery of care across the country.
This year, CAHSE and COD will convene in Washington, D.C., with the goal of addressing pressing issues requiring collective, committed leadership across academic medicine. The meeting will be designed to facilitate:
- Enhanced understanding of the dynamics at play behind national issues affecting academic medicine
- Supporting strategic commitment to the missions of academic medicine across institutions
- Strengthening relationships between deans and health system executive colleagues that will enable the collaboration needed to sustain and advance academic medicine
