To be able to cope with the flow of goods, as well as the information and cash returning within the ecosystem, in a fast and flexible way, strategic supply chain management will be increasingly crucial to organizational success. Historically, it can be argued that supply chain management was the proverbial ‘black sheep of the family’ – but not anymore. Even today, supply chain managers battle to earn their seat at the C-suite table. A fundamental shift in mindset is required to stay on pace with the changing world. We must finally break through the functional silos and focus on value generation.
