Advance strategic partnerships with industry
Senior academic leaders are increasingly responsible for advancing strategic partnerships with industry that strengthen research impact, institutional competitiveness, and innovation capacity. Yet many assume these roles without structured preparation for navigating the strategic, operational, and cultural complexities of cross-sector collaboration.
Engaged Leadership: Leveraging Industry to Advance Research Impact is a three-day executive learning program, that equips chief research officers and comparable senior academic leaders with practical frameworks and actionable strategies for integrating industry engagement into institutional strategy.
Designed as a focused, small-cohort experience, the program offers senior leaders the opportunity to explore challenges, share insights, network with fellow leaders, and strengthen their approach to university–industry collaboration for maximal institutional impact.

What You Will Gain from Participating
Engaged Leadership provides a structured forum for senior leaders to examine the evolving role of industry collaboration in research strategy and to explore approaches for advancing effective partnerships.
Through discussion, practical frameworks, and shared experiences, participants will explore how to strengthen their institution’s ability to engage with industry in ways that support long-term institutional impact.
Interacting with experienced leaders and practitioners from the academic and corporate sectors, attendees will leave the program with greater clarity and confidence in advancing industry engagement at their institutions. Key learning objectives and outcomes include:
- Strategic perspective on integrating industry engagement into institutional research and innovation strategy.
- Practical approaches for strengthening partnership infrastructure and navigating operational complexities.
