Self-Paced Online Mentor  Training

TRAINING OVERVIEW

After completing this training, participants will be able to understand—

  • The core components and elements of Check & Connect
  • The role and expectations of the Check & Connect mentor
  • How to implement the "Check" and "Connect" procedures with fidelity
  • The competencies and skills needed to be an effective mentor, such as:
    • Building relationships with students, families, and school personnel
    • Using data to determine interventions
    • Problem–solving
    • Engaging with families

AUDIENCE

This training option is ideally suited for:

  • Those assigned the role of Check & Connect Mentor.
  • People interested in learning Check & Connect mentoring principles and practices.
  • Check & Connect site coordinators and administrators.

 

PRICING 

$325 per participant

All registered participants must complete training within four weeks of receiving access to the training videos. Training start dates may not be delayed. Please complete registration when you are ready to begin training.

MATERIALS

A set of training materials will be shipped to you to support your learning experience:

  • Participant Guide
  • Check & Connect Implementing with Fidelity manual
  • Access to a suite of digital resources (PDF, Word, and Excel)
  • Please note that we are not able to ship materials to a PO Box
  • An additional $50 shipping charge will apply to addresses in Alaska and Hawaii
  • An additional $100 shipping charge will apply to addresses outside the US
  • The​ international shipping charge does not include customs fees or any charges related to customs clearance. The customer/purchaser is responsible for all customs fees that may apply in their country.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Process

  • Shipping Expectations: Materials will be shipped within 2 to 7 business days after registration. Participants will receive shipping updates directly from FedEx via email. 
  • International: For international orders outside of the USA, packages will be shipped via DHL. Please allow additional time for international shipping and handling.
  • Within 3 business days, you will receive an email invitation to create your password.
  • If paying by PO, you will receive an invoice from the University of Minnesota by email within 1–2 weeks, with instructions for making payment by check or credit card.

4 Week Expiration

  • Your password to access the training will expire 4 weeks from the date registered.

Training Completion Time

  • Self-Paced Online Mentor Training will take approximately 3.5 to 6 hours to view the training videos and engage in thoughtful reflective activities throughout the video content.
