Upcoming Contracting Community Insight Network Virtual Town Hall
Date: Wednesday, November 11, 2026 | 3-4 p.m. ET
Topic: To be announced
This free town hall is open to UIDP members. Registration is required and subject to approval.
The UIDP Contracting Community Insight Network brings together university and industry professionals to exchange practical insights on developing, negotiating, and managing agreements that support university-industry research partnerships.
Through quarterly virtual meetings, participants can learn from both sides of the contracting process, compare approaches, and discuss the issues that can help—or hinder—an agreement’s progress. Conversations will explore where university and industry expectations align or differ; how practitioners address recurring negotiation challenges; and how organizations can move agreements forward while meeting their respective priorities and requirements.
Topics may include sponsored research agreements; intellectual property and licensing terms; confidentiality; publication; data sharing and use; risk and compliance; and alternative contracting models, including upfront IP arrangements. The network will also examine how AI is affecting research agreements, contract review, and negotiation workflows.
These discussion-oriented meetings will feature practitioner perspectives, real-world examples, and opportunities for participants to raise questions, share useful practices, and help shape future topics.
