Accountable Leaders for Worker and Environmental Safety

Creating a safe environment for patients, visitors and health care workers takes more than a security plan or a workplace violence policy. It requires accountable leaders across the organization who understand the risks, know how to respond and can build a culture where safety is part of how work gets done every day. Join us at this timely event where MHA will convene health care leaders from diverse roles to share practical strategies for strengthening workplace safety and support workforce well-being. The event features a session with Lynn M. Van Male, Ph.D., CTM, managing director of Enterprise Security Risk Management at Kroll and a nationally recognized expert in behavioral threat assessment and workplace violence prevention. Her expertise has helped shape national workplace violence prevention standards and resources for health care. Missouri health care leaders also will share real-world approaches, lessons learned and strategies that can be adapted to different care settings. Participants will leave with practical tools, templates and next-step priorities to help advance workplace violence prevention, strengthen staff support and foster a culture where violence is not part of the job and safety belongs to everyone.
