IIA Calgary Session + Fall Social

Proving Program Effectiveness: From Documentation to Demonstrated Resilience
Presented by Lori Caltagirone, CPA, President of Sunesis

Well documented is not the same as effective.

Most governance and compliance programs look strong on paper. The policies are approved, the controls are mapped and the binders are full. But boards and regulators are now asking a harder question: does it actually work when it is put under pressure?

This session is about answering that question with confidence. Drawing on regulator evaluation frameworks and antifragility principles, Lori will share practical ways for internal audit to move beyond checklist assurance. You will learn how to:

• Tell the difference between documented compliance and demonstrable effectiveness under stress
• Stress-test governance and compliance programs using an antifragility-informed model
• Build board-ready reporting that shows accountability, depth and resilience

Then stay for the Fall Social, whether for 15 minutes or the full hour. Enjoy drinks and appetizers, reconnect with familiar faces and meet new ones from across Calgary's internal audit, risk and compliance community.

Who should attend: internal auditors, CAEs, risk and compliance professionals, and anyone who reports to an audit committee or board.
