MQ 2026 Mystery Quilt

When you register, you will receive the Prework Guide, which includes the size options, fabric suggestions, and cutting instructions. Starting in January, you will receive clues via email on the first of every month January 2026 through September 2026. Each clue will be sent at noon Central Time. If you join late, no worries - we will get you the clues!

As part of this mystery you will receive an invitation to join the private 2026 MQ Mystery Quilt Facebook group. In this group you will be able to share photos, ask questions and look for advice if you are not sure about how to proceed with a clue.

Our 2026 Mystery has been designed by Kari Schell who is an award-winning quilter, prolific pattern designer, and one of the industry’s leading Electric Quilt experts. She’s renowned for helping quilters bring their dream designs to life, backed by her essential book EQ8 Drawing Blocks—Exercises in EQ8 Block Design, published by The Electric Quilt Company. Through her popular online trainings—Shoot for the Stars with EQ8 and Tech Know Quilters—Kari has made EQ8 mastery accessible to thousands, with her Easy Peasy method delivering joyful, confidence-building lessons in quick, digestible sessions.

Kari’s design work has appeared in many Mystery Quilt Retreats, Block of the Month programs, Shop Hops, and national magazines, and she continues to create from a home filled with more than 100 quilts of her own design. A certified Art and Stitch instructor, she also teaches quilt construction with the same precision and clarity that define her digital design expertise.
