Heal the Healer: A Topical Reflective Learning Group (RLG) for Infant/Early Childhood Mental Health Consultants
Facilitated by Rosa Julia Rivera
Heal the Healer is a virtual Reflective Learning Group (RLG) that aims to support Infant/Early Childhood Mental Health Consultants in addressing burnout while promoting holistic well-being both personally and professionally. Together, participants will reflect on the physiological and psychological responses to trauma and consider how vicarious trauma can quietly shape performance, behavior, and growth in this essential field.
Through monthly facilitated discussions, consultants will engage with topics such as the neuroscience of resilience and the multiple dimensions of well-being, including physical, emotional, mental, social, financial, and spiritual. Each session invites reflection and dialogue on how these domains contribute to a balanced professional life and how resilience can be strengthened in sustainable, trauma-informed ways.
Across these gatherings, consultants will have opportunities to share experiences, exchange strategies, and begin developing a personal “support kit” to strengthen capacity and sustain well-being. These reflective conversations offer space for peer connection, self-awareness, and exploration of practices that nurture both professional capacity and personal growth.
By attending one or more sessions, consultants will gain actionable insights to reduce burnout and compassion fatigue, foster resilience, and enhance their impact in early childhood settings.
Training Information
This Reflective Learning Group is open to Infant/Early Childhood Mental Health Consultants (I/ECMHC) and Supervisors of I/ECMHCs who are currently providing consultation. Participation is open even if you are already part of another RLG.
Attendance is flexible, and you may register for any of the monthly sessions that interest you, as long as spots are available. We understand that unexpected things sometimes come up; however, if missed sessions become a pattern, your spot may be given to someone on the waiting list.
Because space is limited, we ask that you register only for the sessions you plan to attend and let us know if your plans change. This helps ensure as many consultants as possible can benefit from this reflective space.
Participation credit is available through Gateways to Opportunity, and CEUs are offered for LCSW, LSW, LCPC, and LPC license holders.
