About the Workshop
Attendees will learn how to protect and improve the natural environment of streams by stabilizing a streambank. NC State University and other local experts will provide practical, cost-effective solutions using natural materials and native plants to create healthy, stable streambanks and repair small scale repairs.
This is a free workshop but we ask you to please register so that we know how many are coming. This is a stream-side, hands-on 3 hour workshop.
NOTE: There will not be any classroom instruction or certification option provided. You are welcome to pack your own snacks and drinks.
You will receive hands-on instruction covering streambank repair using natural materials and native live stakes and plants.

This event is for individuals 18 years old or older
For safety reasons, individuals under 18 years old, even supervised, will not be permitted.
What to Bring
Participants will be outside working. Proper attire is strongly recommended:
- Bring snacks and a water bottle
- Dress appropriately for outdoor gardening: work gloves, boots, hat, etc.
- Tools will be provided
Optional items to bring include:
- Rain gear
- Sunscreen
- Bug spray
- Chair
Registration Information
This workshop is FREE to attend but requires registration.
In the event of severe weather, this workshop may be postponed or canceled at the discretion of the workshop instructors and coordinators. If the workshop is postponed, you will receive an email with the newly scheduled date, time, and location. Please contact bae_training@ncsu.edu if you are unable to attend the rescheduled workshop.
