- Wednesdays, February 4– October 21 2026
- No session on February 25
- 6:00–9:00 PM (virtual)
What is the CMP Study Group?
The CMP Study Group is a 10-week virtual study program designed to help professionals prepare for the CMP exam through guided learning, discussion, and real-world application of industry best practices.
How long is the program?
The study group runs for 10 weeks.
Do I need to have my CMP application completed to participate?
No. You do not need to have your application submitted or your exam scheduled to participate in the study group.
What does it cost?
- MPI Preferred/Premier Members: $175
- Non-Members & Essential Level: $350
Study group fees are separate from CMP application and exam fees.
What materials do I need?
- EIC Manual, 9th Edition (required)
- CMP International Standards (recommended and free to download)
A detailed reading syllabus will be provided after registration.
What is the format of the sessions?
Sessions are interactive and discussion-based, focused on applying concepts rather than memorizing material. Participation and preparation are strongly encouraged.
Yes — snacks and meals are welcome during sessions.
What if I miss a session?
Life and work happen. If you miss a session, stay current on the readings and bring your questions to the next class.
What are the CMP exam fees?
(Fees are paid directly to the Events Industry Council.)

- Exam fee: $525
