MOVE Basic Provider Training

TARGET AUDIENCE: Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Special Education Teachers, Parents, Administrators, and Support Providers who work with individuals with multiple disabilities.
TRAINING DESCRIPTION: A two-day comprehensive, certificated program for service providers teaching individuals with disabilities in schools and homes. MOVE is an activity-based program providing opportunities for individuals to increase mobility skills in sitting, standing, walking, and transitioning while participating in activities of daily living. All leading to improved health, independence, dignity, and inclusion of the individual in the family, school, and community.
TRAINING OUTCOMES:
Participants will learn the:
• Purpose, principles, and philosophy behind MOVE
• Six steps of MOVE
• Importance of using the Top-Down Motor Milestone Test (TDMMT) and data collection
• Benefit of using equipment while teaching
• Upright Toileting
• And, much more!
Registration is $150 for Region 5 & 7 staff. $300 for staff outside Region 5 & 7. Lunch will be provided. Cancellations after March 15th, 2019 will be charged the full registration rate, unless a replacement is found. No Shows will be billed. Registration is limited!
Prepaid checks can be made out to Sourcewell or School Districts will be billed following the training.
Funding for this initiative is made possible with a grant from the Minnesota Department of Education. The funding sources is federal award Special Education Program to States, 84.027A. No state or federal funds will be used to cover the costs of food provided.
