Fees
Q: Is there a fee to attend SLA?
A: There is no fee to attend SLA this year.
Q: How do I register and pay for a group of attendees?
A: Group registration is not an option. Attendees must register individually.
Hotel Accommodations
Q: How do I reserve a hotel room for SLA?
A: To allow participants to more easily manage their lodging preferences, the hotel reservation procedures have changed. Attendees are responsible for making their own hotel reservations for SLA.
Q: What is the deadline for reserving a hotel room?
A: May 5th is the last day to reserve a room for SLA.
Credit and Certificates
Q: Will TASL credit be offered at SLA?
A: TASL credit will be offered. Session topics will be announced soon.
Evaluation completion will serve as proof of your attendance, and participants will receive a TASL certificate reflecting five hours of TASL credit.
In order to receive TASL credit, you must attend all three sessions.
Q: How do I complete evaluations for my sessions?
A: To receive a certificate, you will need to complete the overall evaluation (sent via email at the conclusion of SLA) AND session evaluations via the event app. Session evaluations are located within the SLA Event App. Simply tap the session you attended and scroll down to see the survey icon. Each session you complete an evaluation for will be listed on your certificate.
Q: Do evaluations have to be filled out by a certain date to receive a certificate?
A: Yes. Evaluations will close at midnight on Friday, June 26. No evaluations will be accepted after this date.
Q: How will I receive my certificate?
A: Certificates will be sent out via email by mid-July. Certificates will list your sessions (based on evaluation completion). You must also fill out the overall evaluation.
Emerging Leaders
Q: I am an Emerging Leader. What should I know about attending SLA?
A: Selected applicants will attend Emerging Leaders School on scholarship. Emerging Leaders School will run concurrently with Summer Leadership Academy. For further information, contact Jennifer Gaby at jgaby@tnea.org.
Session Changes
Q: What if there is a change to a session after I have registered?
A: If a session change occurs, we will notifiy attendees via email. You will be asked to log into your registration and modify it to select another session.
Q: What if I want to make a change to my schedule after I have registered?
A: Simply login to your registration using the confirmation number you received in your confirmation email. Modify your registration to select different sessions. Once you are onsite at SLA, you may attend a different session without modifying your registration.
SLA Event App
Q: What is the SLA Event App?
A: The SLA Event App is your all-access pass to SLA before, during, and after SLA. The app allows you to:
- View sessions by day
- Access your personalized schedule
- Easily access evaluations for sessions you attend
- Earn credit by completing session evaluations in the app

- Download session materials

Q: How do I access the SLA Event App?
A: By June 1st, you will receive an email invitation to download and log into the app. The SLA event app may also be accessed online via a laptop or desktop computer.
