Learning Objectives

By the end of this course, the learner will be able to: 

  1. Explain the key principles and processes involved in the development, manufacturing, and regulation of biopharmaceuticals and other biomanufactured products. 
  2. Differentiate between manufacturing platforms, cellular processes, and product types used in biomanufacturing, including therapeutic proteins, vaccines, cell and gene therapies, medical devices, and bioindustrial products. 
  3. Describe upstream and downstream biomanufacturing processes, including cell line development, cultivation, product recovery, purification, and final product preparation. 
  4. Identify career opportunities, job roles, and required competencies within the biomanufacturing industry, with an understanding of quality control and regulatory requirements.
