The SimZone is a state-of-the-art training facility that provides visitors with hands-on property loss prevention training and critical-thinking skills to identify and manage risk by experiencing real-world scenarios firsthand. This unique learning environment features 12 different simulated learning labs devoted to educating students about common risks such as fire, ignitable liquid, natural hazards, equipment malfunction and electrical breakdown. Special hazards
This lab includes ignitable liquid operations and storage along with dust. You'll learn about the process hazards that may occur and what type of protection is needed for each type of storage arrangement. The dust lab features samples of materials along with protective equipment that can be installed to minimize damage from a dust explosion.


Risers and warehouse deficiencies
Operational riser configurations in this lab offer a wide selction of wet, dry, deluge and pre-action systems involving different manufacturers' equipment and operating concepts. Rack storage of materials can present a serious fire challenge. The training warehouse provides a realistic environment to describe the hazards and fire protection challenges associated with warehousing of a wide range of materials.
Sprinklers, valves and fire pumps
This environment demonstrates various sprinkler discharge characteristics and facilitates all facets of waterflow testing. Sixteen individually controlled, open sprinkler heads illustrate the difference in flow rates.
