Summary
Offshore wind energy is becoming a crucial resource for enhancing energy security in the Baltic Sea region. Amidst ongoing energy supply challenges, the Baltic Sea countries are accelerating the development of the offshore wind industry. In April 2024, eight Baltic Sea countries—Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania,Poland, and Sweden—agreed to the Vilnius Declaration, committing to collaborating on developing the offshore infrastructure necessary to decarbonise their energy systems and achieve the region’s collective energy transition goals.
With an increasing focus on developing an interconnected regional offshore infrastructure, Global Transmission Report is organising its 5th annual conference on Baltic Offshore Wind Transmission in November 2024 at Radisson Collection Hotel, Warsaw, Poland.
The conference aims to address the challenges and explore solutions for developing the offshore wind industry and the transmission infrastructure, thereby supporting the region's energy security objectives.
This event will bring together various stakeholders involved in offshore wind energy and grid development in the Baltic Sea region. It will offer an opportunity for policymakers, regulators, project developers, transmission system operators, technology providers, and industry experts to meet and share their perspectives and insights.
