IVUS Guided Arterial Interventions (St Thomas) -Nodics only

Learn about the strategies for complex lesion crossing in femoropopliteal and below the knee vessels guided by  intravascular ultrasound (IVUS). Lower limb complex arterial obstructions can be difficult to treat by standard  endovascular means. The workshop will combine discussions, information sharing and tips & tricks during  performance of live cases, so you can refine and perfect your treatment approach of patients with chronic limb  threatening ischaemia (CLTI) as well as learn how IVUS can help guide these complex procedures. 

Course objectives

• Outline treatment strategies for the care of patients with complex peripheral arterial disease (PAD) guided by  IVUS. 

• Review the technical strategies and techniques to cross complex lesions such as heavily calcified CTOs and  multi-level disease in the tempo and below the knee vessels. 

• Understand the role of IVUS to assess guidewire route, plaque morphology and vessel size to guide treatment  strategies. 

• Engage with faculty and other physician peers to discuss best practices for treating patients with PAD. 

• Be able to put into practice arterial IVUS and other techniques learned during the workshop.
