Course Information

This interactive 3-day module is designed with particular emphasis on long-span, full arch or full mouth dental implant rehabilitation involving advanced surgical and restorative procedures. The participants should already have extensive implant surgical and restorative experiences. There are many useful fundamental concepts covered in this module which can help the participants to understand full mouth dental treatment planning in general as well as what complex dental implant therapy would involve.

Participants will gain a good understanding of how to prepare a treatment plan for a full arch or full mouth case using fixed and removable full arch prosthesis, including the All-on-4 concept. Occlusal scheme design, controlling of the occlusal vertical dimension and how many implants are required for each treatment modality will be discussed in detail. A step-by-step guide on how to treatment plan and carry out full mouth rehabilitation using removable and fixed full-arch prosthesis will be covered.

Due to the complex and expensive nature of such treatments, this module covers identifying pertinent risk factors and learning how to reduce or control them. Treatment planning using a full mouth approach and utilising inter-disciplinary approach will be covered. Hard and soft tissue grafting as well as advanced surgical options for the atrophic jaw will be explained. Immediate implant placement is covered in this module.

As integral to the long-term success, long-term maintenance protocol and management of complications will also be discussed, in particular management of peri-implantitis. Additionally, the use of guided surgery and grafting to improve treatment outcomes and long-term stability will also be covered, including guided bone regeneration and sinus life via lateral window.

The hands-on workshop includes: immediate implant placement, guided bone regeneration, sinus lift via lateral window, soft tissue exercise and converting a removable full denture into a fixed provisional full arch bridge prosthesis.

- Acquire knowledge on how guided surgery can facilitate implant placement and restorative predictability.

- Understand the pros and cons of immediate placement and immediate loading.

- Learn about tissue regeneration, bone reduction, grafting, sinus lift and alternative procedures for the management of a full arch case.

- Understand long-term maintenance protocols.
