Herd Leadership Council Application

The Herd Leadership Council (HLC) is a great way to find a smaller community on campus and make a difference in the lives of your fellow students. The HLC oversees social and philanthropic events for students in collaboration with the Alumni Association.  Join the Forever Buffs family and be a part of campus traditions like Spirit Days, Student Philanthropy Month and the annual Nearly Naked Mile.

If you are selected to join the HLC, you will meet great people, gain valuable leadership experience and interact with key campus influencers. You also will have the opportunity to gain experience in fundraising, marketing, event planning, communications and much more!

Herd Leaders (members of the HLC) are responsible for executing programming within their committees and under the direction of HLC Chairpersons.  Weekly meetings includes valuable content from the HLC-developed leadership program.

Open to full-time undergraduate and graduate CU Boulder students.

The Fall 2026 HLC application window is now open through 11:59pm on Wednesday, September 2. Interviews will be held for selected candidates within the following two weeks, and will be scheduled by the HLC President and Vice President.
