VIRTUAL EVENT DETAILS
As the energy sector faces growing demand and, large-scale infrastructure projects are accelerating. A critical question remains: Does the U.S. construction workforce have the skilled craft labor capacity needed to deliver this transition?
In this webcast, Todd Gorgian (EPRI), together with Daniel Groves and Ralph Gentile (CIR Analytics), will present findings from EPRI’s report Outlooks to Foundations: Construction Craft Labor Risks and Workforce Solutions for the Energy Transition – A Hydrogen Case Study and its companion visual synopsis. Drawing on detailed energy-economy modeling and labor market analysis, the research examines how hydrogen-related construction demand through 2050 intersects with broader industrial and infrastructure activity, highlighting labor demand timing, wage dynamics, and resulting workforce constraints.
The presenters will discuss findings across 19 skilled craft disciplines, focusing on labor availability, wage dynamics, and their implications for construction project delivery. The discussion will also address opportunities for near-term project actions and longer-term industry actions to enhance workforce capacity, including efforts to strengthen training pipelines, improve retention, and support workforce stability.
The session will conclude with time for questions and discussion with the audience.
ATTENDANCE BENEFITS
This webcast will be of interest to utilities, project developers, policymakers, labor organizations, and other stakeholders seeking practical insights into workforce challenges and solutions shaping the future of hydrogen and large scale energy infrastructure.
