As students increasingly turn to AI tools for academic support, educators have an opportunity to help them use these technologies in ways that strengthen -- rather than replace -- essential learning skills.
In the fifth and final session of SOCHE's 2026-27 AI Webinar Series, Dr. Amanda Duselis and Lindsay Tate from the AI Excellence Institute at Sinclair College will share early results from an Anatomy & Physiology pilot examining the impact of AI 101 coursework and structured learning-preferences activities on student performance and confidence.
Attendees will explore practical active-study techniques, including explaining concepts aloud, concept mapping, question generation and "what if" scenarios, along with optional AI tools and prompts designed to reinforce students' own reasoning. Participants also will gain adaptable strategies for helping students develop durable skills such as organization, persistence and self-testing while encouraging responsible, verification-first AI use.
Register to gain practical ideas and ready-to-use approaches for helping students develop stronger study habits and use AI as a learning support rather than a shortcut.
