Abstract Submissions now open for Lorne Genome 2027!
Abstract submissions are now open for Lorne Genome 2027.
All presentations (oral or posters) will take place within the historic Lorne Theatre.
As the conference is being delivered exclusively in person, we are unable to accommodate virtual presentations.
Presenting at Lorne Genome 2027 provides an excellent opportunity to share your research, contribute to scientific discussion, and engage with leading experts in the field.
Our delegates represent a highly experienced and knowledgeable community, fostering valuable peer-to-peer learning and collaboration. We encourage researchers at all career stages to submit an abstract and contribute to the scientific program.
By presenting your work, you can:
• Showcase your latest research and findings
• Gain constructive feedback from peers and experts
• Expand your professional network
• Enhance your presentation and communication skills
• Increase the visibility and impact of your research

Key Dates:
- Abstract Submissions Deadline :
Friday 13 November 2026
- Abstract Acceptance Notification :
Friday 10 December 2026
Submission Categories
See a list of categories and their key focus for Lorne Genome 2027. Please review these before submitting your abstract.
You will need to indicate your first preference and a second preference for your abstract category during the submission process.
Chromatin Structure and Epigenetic Regulation
Focus: Chromatin structure, nuclear organisation, histone modifications and variants, and epigenetic mechanisms controlling genome function.
Computational Genomics, Systems Biology and AI
Focus: Computational and systems-level approaches to genomic data, bioinformatics, multi-omics integration, AI and machine learning.
Epigenetics and Genome Stability
Focus: Epigenetic and chromosome-based mechanisms governing DNA damage responses, genome maintenance, chromosome integrity, and inheritance.
Evolutionary, Population and Comparative Genomics
Focus: Genome variation and evolution across individuals, populations and species, including comparative, environmental and evolutionary genomics.
Gene Expression in Cellular and Developmental Contexts
Focus: Dynamic regulation of gene expression during development, differentiation, cell-state transitions, the cell cycle, and tissue specification.

Focus: Aberrant genome regulation, epigenetic reprogramming, genomic instability, and mechanisms underlying pathological states and aging
Innovative Genomics Technologies and Methods
Focus: Emerging experimental and analytical technologies that enable new ways to measure, manipulate, image and interpret genomes and their regulation.
Mechanisms of Transcriptional Regulation
Focus: Mechanisms of transcriptional control, transcription factors, promoters and enhancers, chromatin interactions, and transcriptional machinery.
RNA Biology and Genome Regulation
Focus: RNA function, processing and regulation, non-coding RNAs, RNA–chromatin interactions and RNA-mediated control of gene expression.
Presentation Types
Abstract Format
Lorne Genome 2027 offers opportunities for both oral and poster presentations.
All submitted abstracts will be reviewed by the Program Committee and assessed on scientific quality, relevance, and alignment with the conference themes. Successful submissions will be allocated to the program accordingly.
Please note that while presentation preferences will be considered, they cannot be guaranteed. Due to the limited number of speaking opportunities available, some abstracts submitted with a preference for an oral presentation may be allocated a poster presentation. We appreciate your understanding.
Abstracts must be 300 words or fewer, excluding the title.
Please ensure your abstract follows the below format:
- an introductory statement that outlines the background and significance of the study
- a succinct description of the basic methodologies
- a clear indication of the major findings of the study
- a concluding statement
How to Submit Your Abstract
This year Lorne Genome 2027 is using Sessionboard for the abstract submission process.
Please note that you will need to create a separate submitter profile in Sessionboard. This is independent of your conference registration profile.
During the submission process, please select one option from each of the categories below.

Submission Category
- Please refer to the Submission Categories listed above to select the category that best aligns with your abstract.
Additional Information
If applying for an Award, you must provide the relevant supporting documentation as part of your submission. For further information visit the Awards page.
Before submitting your abstract, please note the following requirements:
- You must be a registered and fully paid conference delegate for your abstract to be accepted into the program.
- You must consent to the publication of your abstract as part of the conference proceedings and promotional materials, where applicable.
On successful submission of your abstract, you will receive confirmation via email.
*If you do not receive your confirmation email, please check your junk or spam folder*
If you need to amend your abstract before the submission deadline, simply log back into your Sessionboard submitter profile an update your submission.
Changes can only be made prior to the submission deadline. Once submissions have closed, any amendment requests must be directed to the Conference Organiser.
