Join us for an opportunity to learn more about your new role as a board member.

New Board Member Orientation sessions are designed to provide newly appointed board members with information and resources needed to begin effectively serving their schools from their very first board meeting. The Orientation sessions also provide an opportunity for participants to meet members of other Central Michigan University partner school boards.
A representative of The Center for Charters Schools' leadership team will lead the discussion of CMU's philosophy in chartering schools and the transformational impact that they can make on the lives of the students and families they serve. The university's role as an authorizer and its expectations of charter public school boards and board members will also be discussed.
In preparation for the session:
- A copy of your contract is available on the bottom right-hand corner of your school's page at the Center's website. To view your page, visit the Our Schools page and select your school from the list.
