ABOUT THE SYMPOSIUM
This symposium provides an opportunity to assist teams in expanding their knowledge in leadership, the fundamentals of quality improvement science, and wellbeing. By offering the opportunity to hear from colleagues across the system with team-based quality improvement successes, cross-fertilization will empower attendees to adopt quality improvement knowledge and process in their respective departments. A complimentary lunch will be provided for all attendees during the event.
SYMPOSIUM KEYNOTE SPEAKER
Every improvement in healthcare begins with a conversation—between clinicians, across disciplines, and within teams. This keynote explores how intentional communication is the foundation of high-functioning interdisciplinary teams and meaningful quality improvement.
Attendees will learn how psychological safety, inclusive dialogue, and shared accountability enable teams to speak up, learn from one another, and improve patient care together. Grounded in real-world healthcare experience, this session offers practical insights for faculty, staff and learners who want to strengthen teamwork, reduce friction, and turn improvement efforts into a shared way of working—where every voice matters and better outcomes follow.
SYMPOSIUM LEARNING OBJECTIVES
At the conclusion of this conference, participants will be able to:
- Describe evidence-based communication strategies that enhance interdisciplinary collaboration and foster teamwork
- Apply best practices in communication and teamwork to improve patient care outcomes and drive quality improvement initiatives
