This course is ideal for restoration technicians who already have a foundational understanding of water-damaged environments and workplace health and safety standards.
Work It Supports:
The Applied Microbial Remediation Technician (AMRT) course prepares you to safely and effectively protect and restore properties impacted by moderate to severe water damage.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
Throughout this class, you’ll gain a comprehensive understanding of mold and sewage remediation techniques while ensuring the health and safety of workers and building occupants. Whether you’re working in the field or developing leadership skills to train others.
You’ll learn how to:
• Safety Protocols: Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), essential health precautions, and safe work practices to protect all personnel.
• Containment Zones: How to design and construct containment chambers, sanitize mold-contaminated areas, and safely remove mold.
• Microbiology Fundamentals: Understanding key elements of fungi, viruses, and bacteria.
• Humidity and Measurement: Basic principles of humidity control, moisture levels, and measurement techniques.
• Decontamination Standards: Overview of key industry documents such as the New York City Guidelines and IICRC S-520.
• Legal Responsibilities: Awareness of legal requirements and liability considerations related to microbial remediation.
• Antimicrobial Products: Understanding the use and application of biocides, biostats, and other antimicrobial agents.
• Air Quality and Sampling: Principles of air quality control, sampling methods, and collaboration with industrial hygienists and indoor air quality professionals.
DETAILS
Upon passing the final exam with a score of 75% or higher, you’ll earn your Applied Microbial Remediation Technician certification.
This certification also fulfills a required component toward achieving the Master Water Restorer designation.
This course qualifies for 14 Continuing Education Credits (CEC) with the IICRC.

! Failure to abide by classroom policies will result in removal from classroom spaces without refund.
CLASSROOM POLICIES
In Person Classroom Policy:
- Proper business casual attire is recommended.
- Smoking is restricted to scheduled out of classroom lunch and breaks.
- Disrespectful behavior or offensive language will not be tolerated.
- Student recording of the class presentation (both video and audio) is strictly forbidden.
Online Classroom Policy:
- Your camera must remain enabled, and the Zoom window must remain active throughout the entire course. There is a minimum contact time for each class, and you must participate for the entirety of the class to be eligible to take the written exam.
- Proper business casual attire is recommended.
- Driving is not permitted while in attendance of online classes.
- Smoking is restricted to scheduled off camera or out of classroom lunch and breaks.
- Disrespectful behavior or offensive language will not be tolerated and will subject the student to being removed from the class.
- Student recording of the class presentation (both video and audio) is strictly forbidden.
- The instructor may record the class for quality assurance purposes; your attendance in the online class gives your consent to any such recording.
CANCELLATION AND TRANSFER POLICIES
- All class registration fees are final and non-refundable. Please review all class details carefully before completing your registration.
- Outside of 31 Days:
If you are unable to attend your enrolled class and it is more than 31 days before the start date, you may either: transfer your seat to another individual within your organization or reschedule to another class date of the same or equivalent value. - Within 31 Days:
If you are unable to attend within 31 days of the class start date, you may transfer your seat to another individual within your organization. No other changes will be accepted due to commitments made with the training organization and instructor. - Cancellations by Aramsco:
A full refund will be provided only if unforeseen circumstances require Aramsco to cancel a scheduled class.
