The Steamboat Institute, in partnership with the Ed Snider Center for Enterprise and Markets, is proud to present a compelling debate on the following resolution: Be it resolved, capitalism is superior to socialism as an economic system that promotes individual freedom and prosperity. Arguing the negative is Paul Adler, Harold Quinton Chair Emeritus in Business Policy and Professor Emeritus of Management and Organization in the Marshall School of Business, University of Southern California, and Ben Burgis, Jacobin columnist and co-author of The Blueprint: How Socialism Can Work in the Real World.
