Quality Measure Deep Dive

This seven-week series will focus on Navigate the Quality Measures (QMs) that define SNF performance with practical strategies to improve outcomes, strengthen compliance, and protect reimbursement. Participants will develop a clear understanding of how key measures are defined, coded, and calculated—and how day-to-day clinical practice translates into overall facility performance. Each session includes practical strategies, realworld examples, and focused documentation guidance designed to strengthen data accuracy, support compliance, and drive meaningful improvements in resident care.

April 22 - Turning the Tide on Falls and Falls with Major Injury

Dive into the falls and falls with major injury QMs by gaining clarity on CMS injury definitions, MDS coding requirements, and documentation standards that directly impact QM performance and public reporting. Consider best practices to drive improvement in this highly scrutinized QM focus area. 

April 29 - Below the Surface: Exploring the Pressure Ulcer QM

Explore the short and long-stay pressure ulcer/injury QMs, how pressure ulcer development impacts quality outcomes, Five-Star ratings, survey risk, and more! 

May 6 - Navigating Psychotropics, Depressive Symptoms, and Behaviors

This session explores the QMs focused on psychotropic medications, including antipsychotics, anxiolytics, and hypnotics, as well as residents who have depressive symptoms or have behavior symptoms affecting others. 

May 13 - Ship Shape QMs and Other Considerations

Improve your depth of knowledge of the remaining QMs including vaccination rates, urinary tract infections, indwelling catheter use, physical restraints, unintended weight loss, and incontinence. Gain valuable insights into systems to drive performance and understand the implications of non-compliance. 

May 20 - Smooth Sailing with VBP

This session focuses on the SNF VBP program, including current measures, scoring methodology, financial incentives, and the impact on Medicare reimbursement. Participants will learn how CMS evaluates performance, and strategies to improve their VBP results. 

May 27 - Diving in to QRP

Master the SNF QRP requirements, including current quality measures, MDS data elements, and submission expectations. The SNF QRP Validation Program will be discussed with a focus on how the review process works, what documentation is required, and how to prepare for a successful audit.
