The American Board of Trial Advocates is honored to welcome members to San Francisco, California, for the 2027 National Annual Meeting & Leadership Conference, taking place January 21–23, 2027, as we come together for a special weekend of leadership, fellowship and celebration.
This January, ABOTA will gather at The Ritz-Carlton, San Francisco, located in the heart of Nob Hill and just steps from historic Chinatown, Union Square and Grace Cathedral. With San Francisco’s famous cable cars nearby, along with the neighborhood’s many restaurants, cocktail bars and cafés, attendees will be perfectly situated to enjoy everything the city has to offer.
This year’s Annual Meeting will be especially meaningful as we celebrate the inauguration of Doris Cheng as ABOTA’s 2027 National President in the city she calls home. Throughout the weekend, attendees will have plenty of time to experience San Francisco on their own, along with special optional activities including a guided Dim Sum Tour through historic Chinatown and an ABOTA Wine Tasting featuring wines produced by members of our own San Francisco Chapter.
Registering:
If your spouse/companion is joining you in San Francisco, please register them when you are registering yourself. All attendees are required to pay the ABOTA registration fee and are welcome to attend all programming and social events. Programming listed as “Optional Activities” require an additional fee listed during registration.
Booking Your Hotel Room:
ABOTA has contracted hotel rooms at The Ritz-Carlton, San Francisco for the nights of Thursday, January 20th – Saturday, January 23rd, 2027. Click HERE to reserve. The online reservation option will only allow one to book within the dates ABOTA has contracted. Should you wish to book additional nights outside these contracted dates, please contact reservations at 1-800-474-6503 and reference American Board of Trial Advocates.
ABOTA Room Rates:
Rooms are held on a first-come, first-served basis for Thursday, January 20th – Saturday, January 23rd, 2027.
$340.00 per night plus sales tax.
The hotel will honor the special ABOTA rate until Tuesday, December 22, 2026, or until the room block is sold out. The rate is available on a first-come, first-served basis. All requests for reservations after the deadline or after the room block is full will then be accepted at the prevailing rate based on availability.
Hotel Room Cancellations:
Due to financial commitments made to the hotel by ABOTA, refunds may only be issued for reservations cancelled before Tuesday, December 22, 2026 (not as quoted on your hotel room confirmation sheet). This is an ABOTA policy. Should you wish to cancel after the Tuesday, December 22, 2026, cut-off date, please inquire if ABOTA can resell your room to a member by contacting ABOTA at leadership.abota@abota.org.
Registration Refund:
Due to financial commitments made to the hotel by ABOTA, registration cancellations should be sent in writing to leadership.abota@abota.org before Tuesday, December 22, 2026.
Wi-Fi Connection:
It is cost prohibitive for ABOTA to provide Wi-Fi to individual attendees during all ABOTA-affiliated meetings.
ABOTA National and ABOTA Foundation Statement:
Since ABOTA National and the ABOTA Foundation are two separate entities financially, all cancellation funds related to the ABOTA National Board Meeting, including golf and activities, cannot be applied toward the ABOTA Foundation. Although we appreciate members wanting to apply their cancellation funds toward the ABOTA Foundation, the collected funds will go toward cancellation penalties that ABOTA National incurs.
