ALPFA Convention 2026 | August 9–13 | Charlotte, North Carolina

Plan Your Stay

Charlotte is ready to welcome you. Whether you're flying in from across the country or driving up for the week, here's everything you need to know to book your accommodations, navigate the city, and arrive ready to connect.

Housing

ALPFA has secured a block of rooms at official convention hotels located in and around Uptown Charlotte, putting you steps away from the Charlotte Convention Center and in the heart of the city's dining, culture, and nightlife.

We strongly encourage attendees to book within the official hotel block. Staying at an official hotel helps ensure you're close to all convention programming and networking events.

Age Requirement

All guests must be 18 years of age or older to reserve a hotel room. This policy is enforced by all official convention hotels at the time of check-in. Attendees who do not meet this requirement will not be able to check in, regardless of reservation status.

Understanding Incidental Hold Charges

When you check in, your hotel will place a temporary hold on your credit or debit card to cover any incidental charges — such as room service, parking, or other hotel amenities used during your stay. This is standard practice across the hospitality industry.

This is not a charge — it's a hold. The funds are reserved but not collected. Once you check out and your final bill is settled, the hold is released, typically within 3–5 business days depending on your bank or card issuer.

Here's what to expect at each official hotel:

Hotel

Incidental Hold

Hilton Garden Inn Charlotte Uptown

$50 per night

Courtyard Charlotte City Center

$50 per night

Aloft Charlotte City Center

$100 per night

Sheraton Charlotte Hotel

$100 per night

Hyatt Place Charlotte Downtown

$75 at check-in

Charlotte Marriott City Center

$50 per night

DoubleTree by Hilton Charlotte

$100 at check-in

💡 Pro tip: Using a credit card (rather than a debit card) for incidental holds is recommended. Holds placed on debit cards can temporarily reduce your available bank balance, which may be inconvenient during your stay.
