Summary - Category 7b Termite Control: Commercial Pesticide Applicator Workshop

About the Workshop
This mandatory attendance, hands-on program will include instruction on biology of wood destroying pests, elements of construction, inspection tips and graph preparation, inspection forms, equipment and calibration, the Indiana Pesticide Use and Application Law, and preconstruction treatment. A Category 7b training manual is included with registration. This workshop is a part of initial certification. Recertification credits (CCH’s) are NOT awarded.

The program will begin at 8:30 a.m. (ET) and end at approximately 4:00 p.m. on both days, at the William H. Daniel Turfgrass Research and Diagnostic Center. The center is located north of the Purdue West Lafayette campus at 1340 Cherry Lane, West Lafayette, IN 47907.

Seating is limited. Early registration recommended.

Fee
The registration fee is $200 and includes a manual which will be provided at check-in. See the FEES page for more information on accepted payment methods.

Parking will be available free of charge at the William H. Daniel Turfgrass Research and Diagnostic Center.

What to Bring
Numerous training activities will take place outdoors regardless of temperature or precipitation. Dress accordingly. Attendees are also encouraged to bring a measuring device, tape or wheel.

Exams
Although those who attend this workshop are eligible for the Core and Category 7b certification exams, the purpose of the workshop is not exam preparation; therefore, certification exams will not be offered. Metro Institute administers the certification exam at state-wide locations. Go to: www.metrosignup.com/Indiana.

Refund and Cancellation Policy
All cancellations are subject to a 12% registration fee + $5 processing fee. To cancel your registration, contact The Education Store by email at edustore@purdue.edu by September 21, 2026 to request a refund. NO REFUNDS will be processed after September 21, 2026.

The mandatory attendance to this workshop is required one time. Refunds of registration fee will NOT be given if the workshop was previously attended.

Purdue Pesticide Programs reserves the right to cancel the program at any time, or if the minimum number of participants is not reached for this course. If Purdue University cancels the course a full refund will be issued. Purdue University is not responsible for costs incurred due to cancellation.
