The FY27 Statewide English Learner (SELAC) sponsored by the ISBE Multilingual / Language Development Department will take place in person at the Tinley Park Convention Center, September 23-25, 2026. This meeting is for any administrator who oversees support for ELs.

Registration deadline: Friday, September 4th, 2026
Wed Sept 23 (for New Directors):
12:30pm: Check-in
1:00pm – 4pm: Basic orientation for new directors
Thu Sept 24:
8:30am – 9am: Check-in
9am – 4pm: Opening General Session at 9am, concurrent sessions throughout the day.
Fri Sept 25:
8:30am – 9am: Check-in
9am – 4pm: Opening General Session at 9am, concurrent sessions throughout the day.
Breakfast and lunch are provided (Thursday and Friday).
It is highly recommended that administrators in charge of English learner programs register to attend this event.
Attendees may include:
- English learner program directors/coordinators
- bilingual directors/coordinators
- principals, assistant principals
- teaching and learning administrators
- curriculum and assessment administrators
- superintendents, assistant superintendents
- ROE staff
- higher education faculty
Up to three individuals from a district may participate.

A limited number of hotel rooms are available at a discounted rate of $169/night. Booking deadline is Sept 9, 2026. A booking online link will be included in the confirmation email you will receive immediately upon completing this registration.
After SELAC: One-on-One Appointments with ISBE Principal Consultants
Meeting dates will be set aside for EL and bilingual directors to meet with ISBE principal consultants via Zoom and these will be announced in the coming weeks. There will be a separate email explaining how to schedule these virtual appointments. ISBE consultants will also be available for individual meetings after those dates.
