Customer Assistance Readiness &
Essential Sensitivity Training
Alabama C.A.R.E.S. Driver Training is a comprehensive two-day certification course designed to build strong customer service habits, reinforce proper ADA assistance, and elevate every driver’s commitment to safe, sensitive, and professional transit operations.
Training Schedule (Both Days):
⏰ 9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
This program equips today’s transit professionals with the practical knowledge, hands-on skills, and real-world scenarios they need to serve passengers with confidence and care. Participants will leave this training educated, elevated, and encouraged—fully prepared to deliver the essential services their communities rely on.
ALDOT recommends that all Section 5310 and 5311 subrecipient agencies provide this training to all transit operators before they begin transporting passengers.

Cancellation Policy:
Due to an excessive number of No-Shows at recent training events, agencies will be required to cancel their registration at least 48 hours prior to their scheduled training. Cancellations can be made through the event website if the participant registered with an email. Participants who registered without an email address should notify Penny Orr at orrp@dot.state.al.us. Failure to cancel a registration may result in a fee.
To register a driver for training who doesn't have an email address, contact Penny Orr at orrp@dot.state.al.us. Please include the driver's name, company, preferred location, and dates. Please DO NOT register drivers using an email address already assigned to another person's name.
