Purpose:
The purpose of this course is to address the challenges of dental implant rehabilitation in patients with significantly atrophic jaws, post-ablative defects, trauma-related deformities, and congenital jaw anomalies. Particular focus will be given to the management of unfavorable skeletal pseudoclass III relationships, which remain among the most difficult to treat. Participants will learn how advances in 3D planning and additive manufacturing have made possible a non-augmentative, patient-specific preprosthetic surgical solution (IPS®). This innovative approach utilizes individualized, functionalized implant designs that achieve unsurpassed primary stability through multivector rigid fixation.
Learning Objectives:
1. Detect and prevent possible complications by defining adequate treatment protocols for dental rehabilitation in severe cases.
2. Use the combination of clinical judgement and 3D-planning to allow for efficient collaboration amongst biomedical engineers and clinical specialists.
3. Assess the dimensional needs, biological requirements, adequate implant designs and prosthodontic plan for the individual patient.
4. Implement alternative treatment views in severe cases of dental rehabilitation in congenital or acquired deformity cases to minimize the invasiveness of overall treatment.
5. Understand the restorative and reconstructive indications for use of IPS® Preprosthetic.
Who Should Attend:
The course is intended for Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons and Prosthodontists; however, Plastic Surgeons and ENT Surgeons are also welcome to attend. At this time, attendance is limited to Attending-level clinicians only.
