DESCRIPTION:
Use of force is the biggest exposure law enforcement professionals face in today’s world. The demand for nationwide police accountability and reform is at the forefront of every news cast; politicians find themselves jockeying for position based on their stance on police reform and accountability. Organizations are being held accountable, and the outcomes are alarming. Take a proactive approach; arm yourself with the knowledge and tools to be the tip of the spear on use of force training and review. It is vital that you as a law enforcement officer understand and implement the current standards (practices) for using force, also know how your force will be micro-analyzed and the importance of how you report your force. Join us for this interactive and engaging training where attendees will break into groups and strategize together.

PARTICIPANT EXPECTATIONS:
- Each participant must be registered through Cvent prior to the registration deadline.
- Participants must attend both consecutive dates to receive attendance credit. No exceptions or modifications allowed.
- After registering, verify that you received the Cvent Registration Confirmation email, which serves as confirmation that your registration was submitted successfully.
- Lunch on your own. Light snacks, coffee, and water provided by the Anacortes Police Department.

- WCIA Members: Free
Free registration applies to WCIA member employees only. Non-member employees who are employed by a contracting agency will be charged the non-member rate. - Washington Counties Risk Pool (WCRP) Members:
Members of WCRP are eligible to register for this training at no cost on a first-come, first-served basis.- Please register with WCIA as a "NON-MEMBER."
- WCIA will then bill WCRP directly for the cost of the registration.
- Travel-related costs, such as meals or overnight lodging, will remain the responsibility of the county.

CANCELLATION & NO-SHOW POLICY:
- Cancellations must be made at least two (2) business days before the first day of training.
- Registrants who fail to cancel in advance and do not attend the training will be invoiced a $340 No-Show Fee.
