Summary - Mid-Council Leader CREDO Conference 2027

We are delighted to invite you to attend Mid-Council Leader CREDO Conference 2027.

At CREDO, you’ll imagine and discern new possibilities for growth in key areas of your life: spirituality, vocation, physical and emotional health, and financial health. Led by a faculty team specializing in these areas of wholeness, the weeklong conferences include plenary presentations, workshops, one-to-one conversations with faculty, small group meetings, daily worship, and fellowship.

Participation in mid-council leader CREDO is by invitation to eligible plan members. A mid-council leader must be enrolled in the Medical Plan and/or the Defined Benefit Pension Plan to meet the basic CREDO eligibility requirements. Because ordination as a Minister of the Word and Sacrament is not required for mid-council leadership and a Stated Clerk must be either a ruling elder or minister of the Word and Sacrament (G-3.0104), mid-council leader CREDO attendance is open to teaching elders and ruling elders elected to serve as mid council leaders and who meet other eligibility criteria outlined below. Mid council leader CREDO invitations are sent to those enrolled in the Medical Plan and/or Defined Benefit Pension Plan; age 30-63; currently serving in mid council leadership (e.g. Stated Clerk, Executive Presbyter, General Presbyter, Associate Executive Presbyter) for at least one year; ordained as a minister of the Word and Sacrament or as a ruling elder; and have not attended a CREDO conference within the last ten years.

When we host what we call a "designated CREDO," such as this one, we build a faculty team with experience and expertise in a particular area. For this particular CREDO conference, you can look forward to time with faculty members who know the unique demands of mid-councils, including several who are or have been mid-council leaders. They are prepared to walk with you as you discern your vocation and seek God’s direction for your life. You can expect conversations with others who have similar vocational experiences and questions.

Mid-Council Leader CREDO invites ministers and ruling elders who are serving in mid-council leadership to come together to “carry each others’ burdens” (Galatians 6:2). You will have an opportunity to discern and respond to God’s call to ongoing transformation with other mid-council leaders who encounter similar opportunities and challenges.

time for listening, prayer, discernment, and growth;
care by a community of faculty who will help you refresh your thinking about who you are and what you believe God may be calling you to become;
daily worship and fellowship with colleagues from across the country; and
the creation of a CREDO Rule of Life, which can make a lasting difference in your life and vocation.

Note: CREDO conferences are not intended to prepare you for retirement. Lifelong Learning has a number of online and in-person offerings for those actively discerning retirement. Due to limited space, we ask those who would attend within two years of retirement to pursue other Board of Pensions education offerings
