Overview

The AMA Physician Leadership Academy provides foundational leadership education for physicians who are rising in their organizations, expanding their leadership responsibilities, and preparing for future leadership roles in health care. Over 12 months, participants will learn actionable skills from physician executives and leadership faculty covering a variety of topics such as team motivation, culture building, strategic planning and execution, budget management fundamentals and much more.

Each session delivers new skills and techniques you can immediately apply to real-world leadership challenges and daily responsibilities. With guidance in facilitated small group sessions, you will also integrate lessons into a longitudinal Capstone Project.

Overall objectives:

  1. Build the confidence of early and mid-career physicians to take on new and expanding leadership responsibilities beyond direct patient care.
  2. Support physicians in their unique career journeys, helping them to set long-term goals and prepare themselves to achieve success.
  3. Develop physician leaders invested in transforming health care for patients, communities, and future generations of health care professionals.
